First Presbyterian Church is entering its twelfth year of children’s food ministry here in Coffee County. This ministry, All God’s Children, has served thousands of free breakfasts and lunches to local children during the schools’ summer breaks, and provides snacks and homework help to students in grades Kindergarten through 9th grade during the academic year. All God’s Children has partnered with numerous local churches, businesses, and community groups in order to provide needed summer meals, after-school snacks, and homework assistance to at-risk youth here in Manchester.
All God’s Children’s mission is to embrace the justice flowing from God by resisting the injustice of poverty and hunger in the lives of youth in Coffee County through a relational ministry of nourishment and mutual presence.
We would like to invite you to join us as a community stakeholder in our movement to resist, in a small way, the reality of child hunger in our midst and help our children break the cycle of poverty through education. We would be grateful for any assistance you could provide us in meeting this vital need in our community. Volunteers are needed to help students with homework during the school year on Mondays through Thursdays from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. and to serve breakfast during the Summer from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Mondays through Thursdays.
All God’s Children is located at 212 Coffee Street in the Westwood School neighborhood. Food and/or financial donations can be received there or at First Presbyterian Church of Manchester. If you have any questions please contact Kim Davis, Deidra or Roger Goins, or call C. J. Thompson at the church, 931.728.3009.
Thank your in advance for your support of this valuable ministry for the youth of Coffee County.
